Beaverton, Portland’s Southwest neighbor, may not be as famous for its foodie scene, but with the opening of the new BG Food Cartel, this family-friendly food pod is now ready to stake its claim on the metro area’s well-established food cart reputation.
The greatly anticipated BG Food Cartel opened in early February 2018, but already it has attracted over twenty-seven delicious dining options, with several more spaces available for more. It’s the first of its kind in downtown Beaverton and is conveniently located across from City Hall.
The variety of choices include Pacific Northwest favorites, such as authentic Thai, Greek, and Mexican options, as well as new takes on old classics like the sandwich I ordered from Isabella’s Eatery, a Reuben with sautéed onions instead of the traditional sour kraut. So good!
BG’s Food Cartel will please every taste. For meat eaters, try brats from Altengarts German Cuisine. Looking for breakfast? Try Belly Bar’s selection of traditional breakfast plates. Want to try the latest food craze to hit the scene? Stop by Abuela Chona to try a few Argentine-inspired dishes. Kids will love the choices, too, as mine did when she dug into the crispy chicken tenders and tots from Kickin’ Chicken Wings.
BG’s Food Cartel is truly for families, with room for the kids to run and play in a central area, and an adults-only speakeasy bar that doubles as an event venue. There are even indoor bathrooms at this comfortable outdoor setting!
BG’s Food Cartel is the city’s best place for families to share great food cart fare in the relaxed, outdoor atmosphere you’ll find in Beaverton’s busy Creekside District.
